Medical Secretary for Psychiatry

The medical secretary belongs to the Administrative Support unit, which works comprehensively for the entire clinic. Receptionists and administrative assistants are also part of the unit. Psychiatry is an area that requires good collaboration between professions, units, adjacent areas, and the community's other resources for the target group.

Residents of Jämtland County who need specialist psychiatric care receive their treatment in outpatient or inpatient care within adult psychiatry at Östersund Hospital. The staff members of the units have a significant responsibility to develop and improve care in collaboration with the area's management. In total, there are about 270 employees in the area.

Adult psychiatry consists of three inpatient wards and six specialist outpatient psychiatric units. We would like you to have the competence and interest to work with unit managers and colleagues to drive quality and improvement work in the area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer an interesting, varied, and responsible job as a medical secretary. Both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and staff in the area to handle the tasks assigned to the medical secretary, such as transcription, applications/monitoring specifically for psychiatry, diagnosis registration, appointment booking, waiting lists, and referral management. There may be occasions when you need to cover in the cash register/reception when regular staff is not present.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completed training as a medical secretary/healthcare administrator or currently undergoing such training
• Enjoy collaborating and helping colleagues
• Detail-oriented and able to organize your work independently
• Attentive and accommodating in your interactions
• Curious and eager to engage in developing and improving daily work
• Understand your role in relation to the organization's goals

Experience with the Cosmic journal system is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, are flexible, take initiative, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. As a person, you have a positive attitude, thrive when there is a lot happening around you, but place great value on structure. You are service-oriented and enjoy working with others as well as independently.
